Arizona Water Company (AWC) and Water Resources Consulting LLC. have partnered to bring Water Efficiency Checkups to large-scale AWC customers across the state! This FREE program helps our Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional (CII) customers to save water and lower utility costs by increasing water use efficiency across their businesses.

Water Efficiency Checkups are available to CII customers that are in good standing.

A Water Efficiency Checkup includes:

• An analysis of the property’s historic water usage to identify irregularities and/or trends.
• A site visit conducted by an experienced water efficiency professional. An established contact with access to the site must be present during the checkup. The water efficiency professional will use AWC’s water meters, high-frequency meter loggers, conductivity probes, and other instruments to assess for leaks and evaluate water-using systems/ devices at the property. This may include inspection of the following:
• Irrigation system and controllers
• Cooling systems such as evaporative coolers, small scale AC units, industrial-sized cooling towers (inefficiencies in cycles of concentration, etc.)
• HOA common area facilities, such as clubhouses, pools, fountains, etc.
• Water treatment systems like reverse osmosis, water softeners, pool filters, etc.
• Restroom facilities such as sinks, toilets, and showers
• Kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, automatic sinks, steamers, boilers, dipper wells, ice machines, etc.
• A comprehensive report that includes:
• Tables and graphs of historic water usage
• Descriptions of findings from in-person visit, including photos
• Documentation of leaks and recommendations for other water saving opportunities, including estimates of both potential gallons and dollars saved
• A follow-up call from AWC staff 6 months post-visit to answer questions, get feedback, and assist the customer in becoming more water efficient.

CII customers may apply to receive a FREE Water Efficiency Checkup by following the steps below:

1. Fill out the online application at this link.
2. Wait for AWC Conservation team to review application for eligibility and completeness within 1 week of application submission.
3. If eligible, conservation staff will contact you to schedule a water efficiency checkup.

Please note that this program is subject to an annual budget. CII customers applying for a Water Efficiency Checkup will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
